“Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Local 267”
From the E’board to all committee members, shop stewards, active members, and retirees of Local 267 and all members of JC3 – we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and hope you have a chance to celebrate this holiday season with family and friends.
In September Local 267 teamed with Anheuser-Busch to host an employee celebration at the Anheuser Busch tour Center. Retirees from the last couple years who had missed a formal celebration were welcomed back along with current employees and local management to celebrate their retirement. The weather was beautiful, and everyone had a great time mingling with current and past co-workers and enjoying Anheuser Busch beverages and great food.
In November long time Secretary Treasurer Howie Dorsher retired from the Local and we wish him a great retirement and thank him for all his years of service. Former President Mike Cova took over as Secretary Treasurer of Local 267, Earth Lindsay will move from Trustee to President, and Josh Lara was appointed Trustee, Josh works in the packaging department in the Fort Collins Brewery and has been a member of the local since 2012. Josh is also a shop steward in the BP&S department.
In November Local 267 rolled out its new App and Website hosted by LinkedUnion. The App is a one stop shop for the members of the Local to find schedules, benefits information, and Local contracts. Members can sign up for push notifications that inform them of breaking news and events happening at the Local or in the Brewery. Local 267 Office Manager Lori Schleber played a key roll in successfully working with LinkedUnion to develop and launch the App and the new Local 267 website. Thank you, Lori. Members are encouraged to download the app. Contact the Union office at 970-482-2749 or through the website, www.lu267.org home page, and well get you set up with a log-in and password.
Our annual Food Bank Fund Raiser kicked off in November and will end on December 17. Shop Stewards have been collecting donations (check or cash) inside and outside the brewery, and the Local will match the first $2500. We will also have the collection boxes out at the Union Hall until December 17th. After December 17th we will make the final donation to the Food Bank of Larimer County, on behalf of all members of Teamsters Local 267.
Remember, the Christmas holiday period is typically the hardest time for such charitable organizations like Food Banks, to raise money to help feed those in need. As our members have done every year for the last dozen or so years, please continue to give generously.
It’s been a busy year regarding retirements and new hires to the bargaining unit. Congrats to all the recent retirees we wish you well in your new ventures. And a big welcome to our new Teamster brothers and sisters and hope to see you at our monthly Union meetings and events. If any of you are interested in becoming a shop steward, there are openings in the roster, especially in the Maintenance department. This is your chance to get more involved in your Union.
A reminder, the hall will be closed the last two weeks of the year. Continue to watch the bulletin boards or APP and website for official announcements.
Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
In solidarity,
Michael Cova
